We now seek to move to a new location to enable the two separated care facilities to develop together, cater for further patients, to combine expertise and community involvement at one new purpose built site.
The intention is to create a feeling of homeliness, based on our present hospice environment and accepted model, yet instil a feeling of reassuring comfort that is inspired by clinical expertise and support, modern facilities and engage a mindset that has freedom from fear.
The new location will have sufficient parking for ease of access for both patient and staff and ease the immediate neighbourhood issues of over parking that can presently occur. We intend to incorporate as many facilities as we possibly can for ensuring the comfort and care of our patients – at no charge to themselves. We will be able to introduce improved services, increase patient intake and so care for more people at a time when demand is increasing in the community and in-line with health care predictions for years to come.
We intend this new facility to become a primary ‘Centre of Excellence’ for South Bucks in the area covered by the NHS Mid-South Bucks PCT, in providing specialist palliative care services to patients with life limiting conditions as well as supporting as many chronically ill persons as possible. We also intend that this new centre becomes one of the best of its kind in the country. It will also allow our progressive Lymphoedema services to care for more patients than is already taking place.
Plans are in hand to acquire land for this purpose with the intention to begin the building process in early 2011. Until that has been completed then we will be able to announce the details and more fully about the new project. In the meantime we seek support funding for this exciting development to ensure that we have sufficient funds to complete the project.
