Management Team
South Bucks Hospice and Lymphoedema Staff:
- Helen McCurdy, BSc (Hons), RGN, DIP. Palliative Care, Palliative Care Services Manager, runs our Nursing section and is responsible for all day-to-day care of patients at ‘Pusey House’. Helen directs the nursing staff plus additional bank nurses as required during weekly operations as well as many professionals, volunteers and helpers at the Hospice. Day therapy, Admin, Bereavement, Catering and Physiotherapy all report into Helen. She also was pivotal in starting our new 'Companions of the Hospice' service in May 2010. Helen has been with the Hospice since 2000.
Gail Osbourne, Lymphoedema Clinic Manager, manages our off-site unit based at Cedar Avenue, Hazlemere. She looks after four staff members, who in turn all look after over 1,300 patient care appointments per year. Gail joined the Hospice via a community NHS sponsorship scheme and the Trust then engaged Gail last year as full time manager of the clinic.
David Brodala, has joined our charity as Head of Retail and has a wide experience of shops and general commercial activities, working in the past for multinational companies at senior levels. He manages six shops around the South Bucks area and two warehouses that are based in High Wycombe, as well as 20 retail staff on various part-time or full-time roles.
Tony Hardware as Chief Executive has overall responsibility for leading the different Hospice teams and includes general management duties such as HR, legal, admin, cross-party discussion groups and is a co-Director of The Hospice Lottery Partnership Ltd. He reports to the Board of Trustees of the SBHT. He has been associated with the Trust since its inception in 1985 and was a Trustee up until Dec 31st 2007. He has been Chairman of the Trust for different terms from 1986 through to 1995, including after the Hospice opened in 1994, followed by re-election in 2001.
Jackie Ward, BSc (Hons), FCCA, is our Accounts Controller. Jackie ensures that our daily funds, salaries, and general expenses are all correctly received or administered, as well as providing reports to the Chief Executive, The Trustees or Charities Commission at the required frequency. Jackie also looks after every day accounting and bookkeeping duties. Jackie has been working for the Hospice for almost 3 years.
Karen Young BACP, is a very experienced counsellor who works one day a week, or as required. She is able to offer confidential support to both individuals and couples. She also runs our support group for those who are bereaved. Karen is an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
