The Trustees
Dr Michael Bowker, MA, MB, BChir. has only been with the Trust for a relatively short time but has already served as our representative on cross party hospice matters in the region. His expertise in the clinical area will be extremely valuable as we move forward. He has experience with working directly with the local PCT in an advisory capacity. He was elected as the Trust’s Secretary in May 2008. He was elected as the new Chairman of the Trustees from 1st April 2009.
Mike Boxshall has been with the Trust for three years and has been involved in fundraising activities and supporting internal functions and external events, representing the Trust on many occasions. He is also a member of a local Lions International Association.
Trevor Davey has recently joined the Board of Trustees. He has previous experience as Chair and Director of an Abbeyfield sheltered accommodation home and has a background in project engineering, health & safety and development of training programmes for London Underground.
Alan Chandler has been with the Hospice Trust for over eleven years and longest serving Trustee, started with organising a Guinness Book of Records record breaking feat with the ‘largest tombola in the world’ event in 1992. His professional experience is within the field of land development, commercial building and estates reselling business and has helped extensively in developing our fundraising and shop networks. He is presently Managing Director of Stupples Ltd, High Wycombe and Aylesbury.
Ann Higginbottom is based close to the Hospice and has been working with the volunteers and supporter activities and events for some considerable time. She has also been key in introducing new Trustees to the organisation.
Barry Pickersgill, JP, has also joined the Trust recently, and has extensive business experience at Managing Director level in a high profile corporate UK company, and in finance, marketing, and sales within the leisure industry in the UK, at director level. He is currently a mentor of the Prince’s Trust and Magistrate in High Wycombe.
Julie Rhatigan graduated from the University of Wales with a joint honours degree in Modern Languages. She joined the Rank Organisation as an internal auditor where she travelled within Europe and began her accountancy studies. She has worked within the industry within finance field for a number of years as Treasurer, financial controller and management accountant. Julie is married with two children.
David Green, CIMA, has recently joined the board in May 2010 and comes to the charity through his connections and position within the regional leadership team of the Retail Group of the Midcounties Co-Op independent provider of community services.
