Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy plays a major role in the care of our patients. With gentle encouragement many patients can regain confidence in their own abilities. For patients who are immobile we may be able to help them do very simple things for themselves, which is a huge boost to their independence.

We provide physiotherapy for patients attending our Pusey House in consultation with the multidisciplinary team an appropriate treatment plan is devised and implemented.

This includes:

1. Helping mobility and providing walking aids and assessing for wheelchairs if necessary.

2. Helping with chest and breathing problems.

3. General exercises for stamina and flexibility.

4. Pain relief, for example using massage.

5. Advice regarding moving, handling and positioning issues.

Clinics are held on Tuesday and Thursday a.m.
