The Project

With new and better facilities in one purpose-built, state-of-the-art building, the new South Bucks Hospice will be one of the best hospices of its kind in the country, providing 21st century care for local people for the very first time.
Major improvements will follow from the integration of all existing hospice services and the work of the lymphoedema clinic under the same roof. With staff from different disciplines able to collaborate and share their knowledge and expertise more easily, it will mean better, more effective, more comprehensive treatment for all our patients.
The hospice will also be much bigger and we hope to extend opening from five days a week to seven days a week, and we aim to be able to treat as much as 60% more patients. Last year we made 3,700 appointments for patients and carers. Once the new hospice is in place, we will be able to make almost 6,000 appointments for local people who need our help, every single year.
What's more, the new hospice will feature specially designed grounds and gardens where patients and their families can enjoy peaceful moments of tranquillity and reflection.
The new hospice will be located at Totteridge, North of High Wycombe. Based in a largely residential area, it will boast vastly improved drop-off and parking facilities, making visits much easier and more convenient than they currently are. Moreover, the new hospice will be equipped to meet the growing needs of the community in the coming years as people live longer and more people are affected by cancer and other chronic illnesses. It will be a huge investment in the future health and well being of the people of south Bucks.
The new South Bucks Hospice will help us provide the very best care for local people and their families for generations to come.
