Patient Care
A time comes in all our lives when it may not be possible to care for ourselves due to old age or infirmity. Even the little things can become a problem. But life need not stop.
The South Bucks Hospice has over ten years experience of caring for people with terminal illness, people who may need intermittent or permanent admission to hospital. We recognize that many patients are not bed-bound and the treatment they need can be controlled by themselves or their carers. In fact some patients prefer to live in the comfort and security of their own homes rather than hospital. We support people living at home, who are unable to cope with the trauma that the illness brings. Also carers, who may need respite from the constant care and with psychological support. Respite can be bliss.
We help patients to lead as normal a life as possible. Patients can enjoy being pampered by the complementary therapies, or they may read books and magazines, listen to music, enjoy the excellent cuisine and the company of other patients, with whom they can share their experiences.
