Hundreds of people helped to raise almost £2,000 for The South Buckinghamshire Community Hospice as they enjoyed an idyllic Snowdrop Sunday stroll around West Wycombe Park at the weekend.

The Hospice was delighted with the turn-out as the public flocked to plant snowdrops to celebrate Spring, as well as tuck into refreshments and browse various stalls in the village hall. There were also activities, such as face painting and colouring, to keep the smiles on the faces of children who attended. Youngsters who completed the snowdrop walk were given a medal.

Jos Robson, from The South Buckinghamshire Community Hospice, said: "We were thrilled with the success of the day. Around 500 people turned out and enjoyed great Spring weather. We are very grateful to those who volunteered to support us on the day and those who donated cakes and savoury treats. Also, we'd like to say a big thank you to West Wycombe Park for allowing us to hold the event at such a picturesque location.

"Most importantly, we have raised a significant amount of money to help patients with life-limiting illnesses. With only around 100 days before we move into our new community hospice, this comes as another welcome boost for our charity."
