PRESS RELEASE FROM WATFORD LADIES FC

Watford Ladies FC are delighted to announce that ‘The South Bucks Community Hospice’ will be one of the charities we are working with in the 2017/18 season.

The South Bucks Community Hospice is a leading community resource supporting patients living with life-limiting or life threatening illnesses.

The Hospice has recently moved to a purpose-built state-of-the-art facility in Totteridge called Butterfly House, which offers a pioneering approach to Hospice care, designed to meet the societal changes that we face.

The South Bucks Community Hospice serves over 320,000 people and receives less than 3% of funding from statutory sources. This year they need to raise £1.1m to continue to function and rely on the generous support of the community.

The South Bucks Community Hospice will also be the designated charity for the Watford FC Ladies vs Tottenham Hotspur Ladies on 29th October 2017. The players will warm up in South Bucks Community Hospice t-shirts and volunteers will be doing bucket collections around the ground on this day.

Over the course of the season a few of the Watford FC Ladies players will also visit the hospice to take part in some of their group meetings and player appearances.

Jo Woolf, Chief Executive Officer at The South Bucks Community Hospice said: “This partnership is a great opportunity for us to reach out into the wider community. We are honoured to have been asked to work with Watford Ladies FC and we look forward to being their nominated charity at the game on the 29th October.”

Ed Henderson, Interim General Manager said, “We are extremely delighted to be working with The South Bucks Community Hospice, they do a lot of incredible work for a lot of people in the local community. Once we had met Jo, we could see how passionate she is about the hospice and we want to help as much as we can.
