South Bucks Hospice is expanding
South Bucks Hospice’s mission statement is Affirming Life with Palliative Care and our new hospice has been designed to align with this mission.
Our new community hospice in High Wycombe will combine our lymphoedema and palliative care services under one roof. It will allow us to continue to broaden the services that we offer and to reach more local people.
Our welcoming and homely environment will enable our patients to fully enjoy their time spent at the hospice.
Along with our social and creative spaces, there will be purpose-built areas for clinical treatments, lymphoedema care, complementary therapy, physiotherapy and counselling.
We will have dedicated spaces for our young adults, patients and carers, and there will be a spiritual and contemplative room.
We will be expanding our range of creative therapies and will have specific areas for activities such as indoor and outdoor gardening, art classes, and music and writing therapy sessions.
The building work has started and will be complete in Spring 2017 and the total cost of this project is £4.8 million.
With the help of an extremely generous legacy and the support of lots of wonderful local people, we have already raised £3.8 million. We still have £1 million to go and every single donation, no matter how big or small, helps us to get closer to our goal.
